QUIET GENTLENESS ABOUT THIS GUY!!!
UPDATE:  JUN 29, 2018

Michael Owens from Sight Hound Underground contacted me today.  We had a long discussion about Zephyr.  They are very well versed in care and understanding of health issues and temperaments of Afghan Hounds.  All their rescues reside in foster care until adopted. They are careful with adoptions and check folks out thoroughly. They are especially considerate of senior dogs and also have experience with heart issues as it is a common problem in sight hounds.  They are a licensed tax exempt rescue org.

They will be coming to get Zephyr Saturday and have given us $100 in reimbursement. I hope everyone will be glad about this arrangement.  I think it is a good one.

JUNE 19, 2018:
Zephyr is waiting to share his dignified love. There is calm gentleness about him, and here at Almost Home, he is clean and undemanding.  Imagine a soft blue cloud that floats softly through your home; then imagine a gray gazelle moving through summer grass, and you will have seen Zephyr, our resident Afghan Hound.  He represents elegance as its best.
Zephyr's  coat was trimmed away before he got here, so he isnt sporting the beautiful long hair that almost looks human. To keep Afghan coats long requires careful brushing and combing at least 3 times a week.  They don't shed very much.
For sight-hounds like Zephyr, traveling a long way fast is easy, so secure fencing is a must. I cant think of a finer walking partner, since he walks politely on a leash.
A few notes about Zephyr:
He is approx 6 years old and a lean 57.2 lbs.
Has a grade 3 heart murmur that will need periodic checks.
Has had a dental with teeth removed.
Is OK around well mannered dogs.
Seems good with strangers.
Not a big barker.
