UPDATE:  NOV 12, 2018 - From owner Susan Walton:
George lived in the wild for at least a month.  When I found him he was very thin and very scared.  I could not get near him but started feeding him twice daily.  I slowly gained his trust over a 3 week period.  Finally, I was able to place a leash on him and walk him.  He learned to jump in my car and that is where I fed him his meal and treats.  One day I brought him home by sitting with him in the back of the car while a friend drove. I put him in a fenced area with a dog house.
George is now neutered and up to date with his shots.  I'm guessing he is between 1 and 2 years old and weighs about 35 lbs.  He is a high energy dog and I decided to try him on prozac to calm him down.  It does help.   He is affectionate to the people he knows and trusts and is good with other dogs but not good with cats.  I don't know if he has ever been a house dog.
He would do best with a woman, as he shows his fear and distrust of men by barking aggressively at them.  He is fine with my 9 year old granddaughter who walks him on a leash.  He loves long walks.  He does guard his food and toys and for that reason I would not recommend he be around little children.  I have a 2 year old granddaughter and a cat so I am looking for another, more suitable home for him.  A friend's 20 year old son taught him to sit and lay down and was working on getting him to obey better and give up his toys but when he tempted George with hot dogs, dropped them  and then pulled them away from him, George tried to get the hotdogs and bit him on his hand.  The bite required 5 stitches.  The fellow blames himself for pushing George too far.
I believe George would be a good companion for a woman with some experience with dogs, who would enjoy taking him for long walks but would give him space when he is eating or guarding a toy.  He has come so far from that scared, starving dog that I first befriended.  I know there is a right person out there for him and I'm hopeful that person  will see his picture,  read my story about him, and come take him home.
